Am 10. Januar 2014 kündigte Bruce Springsteens Manager Jon Landau in einem Interview mit dem Fanzine “Backstreets” an, dass möglicherweise bald sämtliche Bruce Springsteen Konzerte als Downloads verfügbar sein werden.

Backstreets berichtete exklusiv am 10. Januar 2014:

… Landau fills me in on something else in the works: downloadable concert recordings. Plans aren’t totally hammered out yet, but it’s something they want to try, potentially after each show, and he says Bruce is on board with the idea. Active discussions are ongoing and in the logistics phase …

Wenige Tage später - am 17. Januar 2014 - wurde bekannt, dass Fans aus aller Welt pünktlich zum Start der "Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Tour 2014" am 26. Januar 2014 die Möglichkeit haben werden, USB-Armbänder zu erwerben und Shows aus dem Internet zu laden.

Die Shows werden als MP3 Dateien mit 320 kBit/s oder als Lossless FLAC Files angeboten. Die Preise variieren je nach Format zwischen 9,99 $ (ca. 7,40 €) und 14,99 $ (ca. 11 €).
 
   

LIVE DOWNLOADS - USB Wristleband
Auf Bruce Springsteens offizieller Homepage wurden ab dem 17. Januar 2014 sogenannte USB Wristlebands zum Preis von 40 $ verkauft.

Enjoy Bruce Springsteen's performance over and over again with a 2GB, 320 bit rate MP3 USB of the live concert. The high quality audio recording can be transferred into iTunes or other MP3 players. Once you purchase, you will be able to choose one show of your choice to download on the USB Wristband.

This USB wristband is also a reusable flash drive! Use it to store and/or transfer personal files. All USB wristbands will ship upon order, if you receive your USB wristband before the show you are attending, you will receive a message to try back later. Most shows will appear within 48 hours of the show date for download.

NOTE: There are some instances when a live show is not allowed to be recorded by venue rules or technical difficulties.

INSTRUCTIONS: To activate your new live show purchase, you will need an internet connection. Plug your USB wristband into your computer (Apple or PC compatible). Open the USB drive from your computer, you will see a folder for Apple or PC, choose your computer type, then click the file called LAUNCH to download the manager. After the download manager opens, select your show and click download.

Each USB wristband will allow one complete show download of your choice in either MP3 or FLAC, and will also be on sale at tour venues.

Das Bruce Springsteen "Concert Download Programm" startete offiziell am 30. Januar 2014. An diesem Tag konnten Fans das erste Konzert der "Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Tour 2014" aus Kapstadt vom 26. Januar 2014 gegen Bezahlung aus dem Internet herunterladen.
